Jan. 2nd, 2019 09:09 amI started these posts before author reveals, and I think I'll finish them in that same spirit of author-anonymity, though of course you can now click through and know who wrote what.
Stories are listed in the order that I read them.
"Want What You Wish For", The Good Place, Tahani/Eleanor, Mature
"Aversion", The Good Place, Gen, Teen and Up Audiences
"Five Times Philosophy Class Was Totally Easy", The Good Place, Gen, Teen and Up Audiences
Stories are listed in the order that I read them.
"Want What You Wish For", The Good Place, Tahani/Eleanor, Mature
Eleanor's soulmate is a golden retriever. Tahani's is a cat. The Eleanor voice in this story is hilarious—one of my favorite lines is "This is very bad, and Eleanor is like 60% sure it's partially her fault."
"The Creative Type", The Good Place, Gen, Teen and Up Audiences
A story of how Michael came to be Michael, starting with the beginning of the universe and ending with the selection of a human suit. Unlike the majority of TGP fic, this is really focused on how alien Michael and his origins are, and it does a great job portraying the horror and cruelty of the Bad Place without being especially graphic.
"Aversion", The Good Place, Gen, Teen and Up Audiences
A day in the life of Jason Mendoza, during the study in Australia. I really enjoyed Jason's internal monologue here, in particular the way that he responds to others' expectations.
"Five Times Philosophy Class Was Totally Easy", The Good Place, Gen, Teen and Up Audiences
Philosophy and sex jokes! What more could a fan of this show want?
"Life, Death, and Breakfast", The Good Place, Gen, Not Rated (author rating: canon levels of mentioned Florida explosions etc.)
An exploration of Chidi and Jason's friendship in Australia, told through the medium of breakfast. Both characters are spot on, and the OCs and extra details are pitch-perfect for the shpw and for what they show about Chidi and Jason.
"Choose Your Own Torture", The Good Place, Tahani/Eleanor, Teen and Up Audiences
Michael decides to get Eleanor's input on how to torture the residents of neighborhood 12358W. What could go wrong? Eleanor's ability to wrap Michael around her little finger here is perfect.
"the pleasure principle", The Good Place, Tahani/Eleanor, Explicit
Tahani takes Eleanor up on the offer to share her Australian motel room, and things eventually take a very racy turn. I appreciated the time that went into building the relationship, as well as the character voices, especially Eleanor's consistent frustration with how beautiful Tahani is.
"The Bed", The Good Place, Tahani/Chidi/Eleanor, Teen and Up Audiences
Michael tells Chidi, Eleanor, and Tahani that they're all soulmates; he assigns them all to live in the Clown House due to "resource shortages." As the characters note several times, there is only one bed! This trope-y delight is told mostly from Chidi's viewpoint, offering a great window into how he thinks about his anxiety in the Good Place.
